Activities Host

Part-Time, Seasonal

Hosts are the core of operations of The Forge: Lemont Quarries. Hosts are the first encounter many guests will have as they enter our park and will be a presence in many of our activities. Hosts will assist in preparing and running a multitude of activities, doing everything from organizing games of laser tag, helping guests into kayaks, confirming appropriate gear up at Ropes Course, and offering an outstanding guest experience.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Host responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicates with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction and solutions with patience and tact.
  • Takes part in the daily inspection of equipment and fills any applicable documentation.
  • Follows Local Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and general safety regulations.  
  • Answers basic questions regarding the operation of the park and ropes course.
  • Maintains a knowledge of park offerings, amenities, events, as well as answers to frequently asked questions
  • Acts as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure and entertainment experiences but also of the nature surrounding them once onsite.
  • Coaches, screens, and assesses participants through observation and guest interaction.
  • Delivers briefings to groups of participants in a clear, confident manner
  • Demonstrates the core values of The Forge: Lemont Quarries in guest and staff interactions.
  • Works to facilitate an emotionally and physically safe environment for guests to explore outside of their comfort zones while adhering to the ‘choose your own challenge’ philosophy.
  • Reports to park Leads and Managers, works closely with other Hosts and Guides to ensure clear and consistent communication and services to guests.
  • Helps other Hosts, Guides, and park leadership to drive performance and efficiency, while maximizing guest satisfaction.
  • Shows good stewardship of park equipment and facilities. 
  • Can/will be directed to complete tasks such as basic cleaning and inspection of Explorer equipment.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of activities including but not limited to: Archery, Laser Tag, Paddlesports, Ax Throwing, Kids Adventure Zone, Kids Jump Zone, Archery Golf, Gold Panning, and Mini Golf.  
  • Will be responsible for checking in guests at various checkpoints, selling products and offerings out of the Gift Shop

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 15+ years of age
  • Must complete host training
  • Customer service skills required to answer guest questions and respond to guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Communication skills and basic public speaking skills and confidence to deliver direction to guests
  • The ability to follow directions and complete tasks as directed by management with and without constant supervision. Must be receptive to coaching and feedback.
  • Can retain information relating to the park and equipment with attention to detail in order to assist with inspections.
  • Must be punctual and responsible with the ability to consistently show up for scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions  including sun, rain, wind, and extreme heat/cold for extended periods. The job may require employees to be outside for the entirety of a shift.
  • Basic computer literacy to assist with guest check-in and assistance at POS locations. 
  • Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational duties may require
  • Must have a basic standard of physical fitness, endurance, communication skills and manual dexterity. Position requires the ability to lift and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods

SCHEDULING AND STAFFING:

  • Ideal candidates should be able to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day  including nights and weekends (depending on their start date)
  • Must be able to work weekends in the Fall.

Climb & Zipline Adventure Guide

Part-Time, Seasonal

Climb & Zipline Guides are the most crucial position on the Ropes Course. Guides provide encouragement, assistance, support, and guidance to guests, all while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor. All of this is done while mitigating risks for our guests and maintaining safety principles as they explore the ropes course both in the air and on the ground.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Climb + Zipline Guide responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works both at height and on the ground to survey and monitor guests, fellow staff members, and the course with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety standards
  • Communicates with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction with patience and tact
  • Consistently works to create a positive and productive work environment through teamwork, receptivity to feedback, and continuous improvement practices. 
  • Demonstrates The Forge: Lemont Quarries core values in interactions with staff, members, and guests in word and in action
  • Works to facilitate an emotionally and physically safe environment for guests to explore outside of their comfort zones while adhering to the ‘challenge by choice’ philosophy

  • Facilitates fun and safe guest experiences both on the ground and at height through coaching mechanisms, knowledge, and interactions.

  • Performs daily inspections involving the traversal of course components and documentation of course and related equipment
  • Follows LOPs, SOPs, and safety regulations and by keeping oneself informed of current events, site practices, and safety concerns.  
  • Reports to Managers and Supervisors. Work closely with other Guides and Hosts to ensure clear and consistent communication and services to guests
  • Helps other Climb & Zipline Guides, Exhilarate Hosts, and park leadership to drive performance and efficiency to maximize course throughput and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrates course stewardship and assists in course, equipment, and site maintenance when directed to. Includes cleaning, repair, inventory, and inspection.
  • If 21+, may be eligible to work barback shifts at park events



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Must be 18+ years of age*
  • Must be within all participant requirements of the Climb & Zipline Adventure Ropes Course (stg-forgeparkscom-staging.kinsta.cloud/participant-requirements)
  • Must attend and pass a paid 5-day 40-hour training session 
  • Must pass a skills assessment after training (written and practical)
  • Must have a basic standard of physical fitness, endurance, communication skills and manual dexterity. Position requires the ability to climb, lift and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, as well as sit in a harness and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions  including sun, rain, wind, and extreme heat/cold for extended periods. Job requires employees to be outside for the entirety of each shift

Group Sales Representative

Part-Time or Full-Time

The Forge: Lemont Quarries is seeking a Group Sales Representative  to assist our business in securing customers and increasing sales by prospecting groups for events such as corporate outings, government agencies, non-profit organizations, school groups, birthdays and more! 

This is a part-time position, with potential full-time growth in the future.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Group Sales Representative develops, implements, and continually evaluates the sales and outbound strategy for assigned areas, with short- and long-term goals that support the mission of The Forge: Lemont Quarries.  

Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Research potential clients through a variety of sectors to build a database of corporate and educational prospects. 
  • Establish targeted campaigns that focus on a multi-channel approach (emails, calls, social media,  and correspondence). 
  • Achieve weekly and monthly goals for outreach to specific industries and organizations throughout the market.
  • Turn the prospects and inquiries into qualified leads for The Forge: Lemont Quarries
  • Work with clients to build out their adventurous day at the park including activities, entertainment, and educational opportunities.  
  • Be able to speak to the product offerings at The Forge: Lemont Quarries to give the client clarity on 
  • Any additional duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven background in inside sales
  • Confident and comfortable in working with guests and colleagues of all backgrounds
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently

  • You need to be well-versed in modern computing platforms and be proficient in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Experience with HubSpot is a plus.

Recreation Supervisor

Part-Time, Seasonal

Recreation Supervisors are the backbone of The Forge Lemont Quarries. They provide assistance, support, and guidance to all staff and guests while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor. Supervisors are to model what The Forge Lemont Quarries represents in both action and presentation.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhilarate Programming Opening/Closing Procedures
  • Keyholder
  • Opening/Closing Park Gates
  • Operates company vehicle during work hours
  • Acts as a LOD during park operating hours 
  • Provide support during staff training and onboarding
  • Acts as additional ground support/responder in rescue/assist scenarios
  • As needed will assist with the maintenance of Exhilarate Activities  
  • Ensures guide rotations are moving, and that staff is taking necessary breaks
  • Acts as a “floater” as needed, and fills in wherever needed (gear up, practice lines, guide rotation, bottom zip, check in, etc.)
  • Identifies staffing needs (breaks, calling off staff, cutting staff, calling staff in, etc) as it relates to inventory, budget, guest satisfaction, safety, and company goals
  • Communicates with all members of the Forge Team (as needed) regarding any pending concerns, habits, or general occurrences that don’t necessarily align with company goals, standards, and/or expectations.  (Both financially or culturally)
  • Informs management of any/all incidents; if necessary, report said incident via an incident report within 24 hours of its occurrence
  • Has an intimate knowledge of all park activities, and will be able to run them as needed
  • Can/will be scheduled for other shifts as needed (guide, West host, East host, maintenance, etc.)
  • If 21+, may be eligible to work barback shifts at park events
  • Fills in at off site properties as needed

Whalon Lake Supervisor

Part-Time, Seasonal

The Whalon Lake Supervisor oversees off-site kayak rental operations, including opening and closing procedures, guest services and equipment maintenance. This role requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for Whalon Lake Kayak Rentals opening, closing, and operational procedures (keyholder).
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Kayaking, including but not limited to: proper paddling techniques and kayaking safety standards.
  • High customer service
  • Acts as supervisor during regular operations
  • Handles bookings, retail sales etc. and instructs guests on the use of equipment. Addresses guest escalations as needed.
  • Communicates weekend second shift staffing needs to Lemont Quarries Operations activities scheduling staff
  • Consistently communicates with members of The Forge leadership team regarding operations, any pending concerns, guest escalations, activity materials needs, and/or any other needs related to the successful operation of the activity
  • Ensures all assets associated with the activity are in good working order and are properly secured when not in use. Keeps working areas organized, neat, and tidy
  • Maintains inventory of all assets and reports maintenance issues and needs to The Forge leadership team in a timely manner. Works with management to ensure there’s no misuse of company property or theft
  • Informs management of any/all incidents; if necessary, reports said incident within 24 hours of its occurrence
  • Trains and coaches new team members as needed
  • Will be responsible for following Lemont Quarries Operations cash policies.  These include safe management, change requests, and preparing deposits daily.

  • The position will require you to work alone 2 – 3 days a week, must be a self starter and work well with little to no immediate supervision.

Event Support Staff

Part-Time, Seasonal

Event staff members are integral to the operations of The Forge: Lemont Quarries. Event staff members assist in running a multitude of tasks during our concert series and special event programming.  These tasks will include checking in guests, ID’ing guests, and of course serving our alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  Team members will also be responsible for setting up and running our stands during concerts and programming.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Host responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicates with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction and solutions with patience and tact
  • Follows Local Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and general safety regulations.  
  • Answers basic questions regarding the operation of the park and ropes course
  • Assisting guests as they check-out, utilizing our point-of-sale system for both retail and F&B offerings
  • Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts
  • Ensure proper preparation and presentation of all F&B offerings
  • Have knowledge of spirits/beer/wine, the ability to maintain an appealing and Guest-ready bar area and have outstanding service ability
  • Maintains a knowledge of park offerings, amenities, events, as well as answers to frequently asked questions
  • Acts as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure and entertainment experiences but also of the nature surrounding them once onsite
  • Assess patrons and follow Dram shop law and state regulations in proper alcohol service.
  • Screens, and assesses guests through observation and guest interaction
  • Demonstrates the core values of The Forge: Lemont Quarries in guest and staff interactions
  • Reports to F&B Lead and Managers, works closely with other event staff to ensure clear and consistent communication and services to guests

  • Dependent on size of event or concert, may be asked to help with parking lot duties  
  • Will occasionally act as traffic attendant for Boyer Road crossing  



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Prior experience selling alcoholic beverages in a club/concert venue preferred but not required
  • Customer service skills required to answer guest questions and respond to guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner

Quarry Camp Counselor

Full-Time, Seasonal ($17/hr)

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with kids! In this role, you will be directly responsible for creating an unforgettable camp experience for lots of awesome campers. A positive attitude, a love for working with kids and a desire to make a difference are a must! 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Camp Counselor is on the front line of creating the ultimate experience and making a difference in the lives of many children. This person will work with multiple departments in order to achieve this goal. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Assisting campers as they check-in, navigate the park and follow all guest protocol and safety guidelines
  • Guide campers through daily schedule of activities
  • Ensuring campers meet the requirements for utilizing the various attractions 
  • Communicate with campers and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience
  • Set a good example in promptness, manners, language, appearance, and health as well as   respect and care for the facilities and the out-of-doors
  • Facilitate a positive, high energy, silly, welcoming and enthusiastic camp culture 
  •   Knowledge of when to call Administrative Staff to help in difficult/dangerous situations 
  • Behavioral de-escalation

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Great with people, especially kiddos and passionate about working in the adventure, camp industry

Camp Coyote Counselor

Part-Time, Seasonal (Stipend $17 per hour)

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with ages 3-6 yrs old! In this role, you will be directly responsible for creating an unforgettable camp experience for lots of awesome campers.  Camp Coyote is a mixture of Nature based fun, games that inspire creativity and exploration as well as arts & crafts, bikes,jumping and being active outside! 

A positive attitude, a love for working with kids and a desire to make a difference are a must!

Forge WILD Camp Counselor

Part-Time, Seasonal ($17 per hour)

Tues, Wed, Thursdays  8am-4pm  | July 7-July 31, 2025

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, nature and love working with kids! In this role, you will be directly responsible for creating an unforgettable camp experience for lots of awesome campers. A positive attitude, a love for working with kids and a desire to make a difference are a must! 

This Nature based learning camp provides opportunities for campers to experience, explore, problem solve and be immersed in Nature. Taking lace at our NEW Forge Nature Center,programming includes a weekly program visit from Cosley Zoo to provide animal encounters, Forge Kids Zone, Jumping Zone and Discovery Zone, Forge Mini Golf and Kayaking.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Camp Counselor is on the front line of creating the ultimate experience and making a difference in the lives of many children. This person will work with multiple departments in order to achieve this goal. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Assisting campers as they check-in, navigate the park and follow all guest protocol and safety guidelines
  • Guide campers through daily schedule of activities, games and experiences
  • Ensuring campers meet the requirements for utilizing the various attractions 
  • Communicate with campers and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience
  • Set a good example in promptness, manners, language, appearance, and health as well as   respect and care for the facilities and the out-of-doors
  • Facilitate a positive, high energy, silly, welcoming and enthusiastic camp culture 
  •   Knowledge of when to call Administrative Staff to help in difficult/dangerous situations and  

 behavioral de-escalation

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time training commences  
  • Great with people, especially kiddos and passionate about working in the adventure, camp industry
  • Be in good physical condition in order to handle the daily job duties
  • Confident and comfortable in working with campers and colleagues of all backgrounds 
  • Background, experience, or active interest in Nature, Teaching and /or outdoor education is a plus
  • Super-freakin-awesome communication skills. Seriously, you must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to pitch in at all levels, there is no room for a “not my job” attitude
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements 

 

All successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and will be required to complete a staff training and orientation program.

Special Events Coordinator

Part-Time, Seasonal

The Forge: Lemont Quarries is looking for an ambitious professional to assist (seasonally) in the production of events at The Mount at The Forge: Lemont Quarries. The Special Events Coordinator will handle the logistics of both entertainment and educational programs at the park events for the Spring, Summer and Fall 2025 Season. This position reports to the Director of Programming. The successful candidate is someone who is steadfastly committed to working with teammates and third party partners to deliver memorable experiences for guests of all ages and abilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day of execution of concerts and festivals and special events managed by the Programming Team. Be point of contact for internal and external partners associated with the event
  • Schedule & book vendors and Event Support Staff required for each event 
  • Manage set up/tear down of the event space including scheduling and coordinating with other Forge team members or budgeted outside vendors. The candidate must have a first one in/last one out mentality
  • Assist contracted promoters and managers with talent load in/load out 
  • Develop comprehensive run of show for events programming and coordinating with Forge staff, Managers & Directors to provide the optimal guest experience of all attendees 
  • Conduct weekly event beverage inventory and work with the Director of Operations to ensure adequate supplies are available
  • Oversee all event and beverage supplies and manage inventory for items including linens, merchandise, and signage
  • Create and post personalized signage for an enhanced experience for VIP groups
  • Work with other Programming staff for logistic support of both the Entertain and Educate pillars
  • Responsible for maintaining the “aesthetics” of the green room, VIP Containers, and other guest areas around The Mount. Work with the Programming Director and General Manager for decor, storage, and maintenance needs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with A/V Vendor on all public and private events to ensure a seamless execution
  • Be the point of contact for the Special Events Team for all third party partners

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of event production or management experience
  • Well-versed in modern computing platforms and proficient in using restaurant management software (Toast preferred)
  • Availability to work on nights and weekends with 2 days off during the week
  • Experience working with talent, creative teams, production teams and a variety of vendors
  • Ability to learn simple tech skills to be able to problem solve issues when A/V Company is unavailable (set up microphones, operate video display boards, etc)
  • Exceptional, organizational and project management skills
  • Acute attention to detail and the ability to multi task and run multiple projects in tandem
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Positive, can do attitude, creative problem solver and team player
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

This position is Seasonal- Part Time and  mainly focused on weekend days and weekend  evenings- the occasional weekday event may be scheduled.
