DESCRIPTION:The Camp for All Abilities\n\nAugust 3 – August  5\, 2026\n\n\nOG CAMP with Camp Trailblazers is a three-day summer day camp for people ages 15+ with cognitive and physical disabilities. Designed to fit the needs of participants\, this three-day summer camp experience allows opportunities to surpass challenges and discover new abilities. With The Forge as the adventure destination\, campers will experience exhilarating activities such as kayaking and canoeing\, archery\, outdoor laser tag\, a netted obstacle course\, inflatable obstacle courses\, nature scavenger hunts\, biking and ziplining. \nOG CAMP offers an opportunity to be “Original and Old Fashioned” campers in a campsite with a campfire and songs. A special guest will lead singalong fun and s’mores. \nCampers must provide their own packed lunch\, snack\, water bottle and drinks. There are no heating facilities to heat up food or drink at camp. Camp Trailblazers is a place to learn new skills\, make friends and have fun being active outside. Campers must be ages 15 and older\, have an intellectual or physical disability to participate and be able to communicate their needs and desires. \nTrails and pathways are easy to maneuver and are relatively flat. The paddlesports area has an accessibility ramp with railings. At this time\, all campers wanting to zip line must be able to wear a harness and walk up the stairs on the Skyscraper Tower. Counselors are patient and kind when guiding campers in activities. Campers can move at their own pace and comfort level. Campers who require assistance with toileting or eating must bring a helper\, assistant or aide. We love to maintain the element of surprise\, so we won’t spoil everything we have planned! \nActivities such as hiking\, fishing\, birding\, bouldering\, ziplining\, slingshot\, slacklines\, exploring creepy crawlers & animal habitats\, nature art\, woods awareness\, storytelling\, games and hammock are all part of the 3 days. SUMMARY:The Forge Trail Run Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Forge Trail Run Festival Returns with 10K\, 20K\, 30K\, 60K Events\nThe Forge Trail Run Festival will embrace the adventure and challenge of late-fall\, mid-west trail running with a 10K\, 20K\, 30K\, and 60K events.  The races will be run on single/double-track trails in The Forge and adjoining trails\, within the woods and on some gravel around the historic Lemont Quarries and I&M Canal. \nThe courses will have a common start / finish line within the Forge.  The courses wind through the single and double track trails within the woods and some gravel trails around the historic Lemont Quarries and I&M Canal throughout the Forge and adjoining trails. \nThe 10K will be one lap\, the 20K (Half Marathon) will be two laps and the 30K will be a three lap course.  Our newest offering – the 60K – will be six laps. Total mileage may not be precise\, but will be close to the promoted distances.  This is a trail race and we want the natural terrain and flow to guide the course and distance. \nThe gravel trails are flat. The single-track sections have variable terrain and surfaces ranging from dirt\, grass\, rocks\, mud\, more rocks\, roots\, mulch\, stumps\, critters\, etc. A few sections are technical with several short but steep inclines and downhills.  The defining character and primary challenge of the course is the variable surface.  There are not any significant elevation changes.   We would rate this course as moderately challenging for experienced trail runners and more difficult for runners with less experience on trail.
